As somebody who did not grow up in ...Hello Pastor,

As somebody who did not grow up in church and had no preconceived notion of how I was supposed to worship, much of this seems like nonsense to me, although I do understand people's passion for their faith.

I miss listening to you talk about these things. I learned a lot about church history and where my roots are. I knew where I came from. I don't know why we feel the need to completely overhaul a system of worship when part of it seems lacking. I go to a non-denominational church now that is fairly contemporary and at times it feels empty. I miss the reverent worship and the liturgical aspect of worship. However, I don't feel like I belong when I go to a more liturgical church either, it feels as if something is lacking there as well.

It seems that we should be able to worship all sides of God's personality in a church, but unfortunately people have to be involved and that screws it all up. So, I guess we'll just have to continue to deal with it unless God decides to wipe it all out and start over.

Thank you for writing this. I hope I didn't come across too negative. I enjoy reading these things from you even though it tends to sadden me a little because it reminds me of what we had and lost.

Anyway, I think I'm just rambling now, so I'll close by saying Merry Christmas Pastor, May God bless you and your family.Bill Whiteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08996661503828002938noreply@blogger.com
